Why Volunteer for Rock Steady Boxing Widnes & Warrington?

Volunteering with us gives you the opportunity to meet new people, support your local community, and create fantastic memories alongside an inspiring group of individuals.

By volunteering, you help our sessions run smoothly and effectively, ensuring our participants get the most out of every class. More importantly, you become part of a community that promotes confidence, friendship, encouragement, and unity for our Parkinson’s Disease (PD) superheroes.

Our volunteers, or “cornermen and cornerwomen”, play a vital role in every session. They provide support, motivation, camaraderie, and a positive atmosphere that helps our members feel welcomed, empowered, and capable of achieving their goals.

Whether you’re offering a helping hand, sharing a smile, or celebrating someone’s success, your contribution can make a real difference to the lives of people living with Parkinson’s.

Join our team and help us continue to build a stronger, more supportive community, one session at a time.

Our group helps people to realise there are actions we can take to help fight against the symptoms and improve our quality of life.

Tony - Volunteer

” I wanted to be a volunteer to give something back and I love being a volunteer it makes me happy and I will recommend anybody to help just a little bit it’s so fulfilling. “

Shaun - Volunteer

“I wanted to be a volunteer because at the time I was training at the gym myself and I liked seeing what Tommy was doing and I saw that he needed volunteers and I thought I’d try it and give it a go.
Its totally out of my comfort zone so was really new to me.

After doing a few classes it opened my eyes on how well they do and how much it helps them physically aswell as mentally. Its getting them out the house socialising and keeps them fit.
In the 2 months of been there I’ve seen progress already so it feels really good to be part of the team helping them.
For me it feels rewarding but also I’m learning alot each session as each week we have different themes of what parts of the body we work on.

I do about 3 to 4 classes a week and it helps me mentally aswell and I find that me helping them they are gaining extra confidence aswell as the physical side of things.

I honestly cannot recommend rock steady boxing enough to anyone out there who suffers with parkinsons from the experience Tommy and us volunteers have we have so much to offer.”

June - Volunteer
